Fueling the Future: Project Quik Receives $100,000 in Google Cloud Credits
We have some exciting news to share.
Project Quik has been accepted into the Google for Startups Cloud Program, and as part of this incredible milestone, we've been awarded USD 100,000 in Google Cloud credits. This is a major moment for our team, and we couldn't be more grateful to Google for the recognition and support.
For a startup on a mission to make backend development invisible for indie game developers, this is more than a funding announcement. It's validation that what we're building with Sphere Kit matters.
What is the Google for Startups Cloud Program?
The Google for Startups Cloud Program is designed to help high-potential startups build and scale on Google Cloud. It's not just access to credits — it's a genuine partnership. Accepted startups gain access to technical mentorship, Google Cloud architects, and a global network of founders and advisors who have walked the same road.
Being selected means Google sees real potential in what you're building. For us, that's a powerful signal as we continue developing Sphere Kit into the go-to backend platform for indie game developers around the world.
What $100,000 in Cloud Credits Means for Sphere Kit
This level of support fundamentally changes what we're able to build — and how quickly we can build it. Here's exactly how we plan to put these credits to work:
-
Accelerate Sphere Kit's Core Development: We can now run richer development and staging environments without worrying about cloud costs. That means faster iteration cycles, more robust testing, and a higher-quality product reaching developers sooner.
-
Scale Infrastructure Confidently: As the Sphere Kit user base grows, so do our infrastructure demands. These credits give us the runway to scale compute, storage, and networking resources in step with our growth — without the financial pressure that typically constrains early-stage startups.
-
Deliver World-Class Security and Reliability: Google Cloud's infrastructure is built with enterprise-grade security at its core. Fine-grained Identity and Access Management policies keep every developer's data protected, and the 99.95% SLA across core services means Sphere Kit can promise developers the uptime their games depend on.
-
Integrate AI and Advanced Technologies: One of the most exciting parts of this for us. With access to Google Cloud's full suite — including Vertex AI, BigQuery, and Pub/Sub — we can explore intelligent features within Sphere Kit that go well beyond what we'd originally scoped. Think smarter analytics, predictive scaling, and AI-assisted backend recommendations for developers.
-
Redirect Resources Toward What Matters Most: Every dollar of cloud cost we offset is a dollar we can reinvest into our team, product research, and the developer community we're building around Sphere Kit. This support directly accelerates our roadmap.
Why This Matters to Us
Building developer tools is a long game. You're asking busy, creative people to trust your platform with critical parts of their project — their player data, their game state, their livelihoods. That trust is earned slowly, through reliability, through great documentation, through actually being there when something goes wrong.
Receiving $100,000 in Google Cloud credits doesn't just help us move faster. It lets us invest in the kind of infrastructure quality that makes that trust warranted. When a developer builds their indie game on Sphere Kit, we want them to feel the solidity of the foundation underneath them — even if they never think about it.
That's what this support enables.
Our Vision Going Forward
This milestone reinforces everything we set out to do when we founded Project Quik: remove the technical barriers that stand between great game ideas and shipped products.
Indie developers are some of the most creative, tenacious people in the world. They build entire universes in their spare time, with limited budgets and no safety net. The least we can do is make sure backend complexity isn't the thing that stops them.
With Google's support behind us and Sphere Kit in developers' hands, we are more motivated than ever to deliver on that promise.
Thank You:
To the team at Google for Startups — thank you for believing in what Project Quik is building. We don't take this lightly, and we intend to make good on it.
To our community of developers who have supported, tested, and cheered us on since day one — this one's for you. We're just getting started.
Stay tuned. There's a lot more coming.
